Dead battery: the hidden key
If the car or remote battery is dead, the buttons are useless. Most remotes and smart keys hide a small mechanical blade released by pressing a button or sliding a tab.
That blade opens the driver's door lock, sometimes hidden under a plastic cap on the handle. If you can't find it or the lock is seized from lack of use, we handle it.
Faulty central locking
A worn door actuator buzzes, locks only one door or refuses to unlock. It's a mechanical and electrical part that wears over time, especially with our winters.
We first open the door without damage, then check whether the problem is the remote, a fuse, wiring or the actuator itself.
Opening without harming electronics
Modern doors contain electronic modules and airbags. We use an air wedge and reach tool, or go through the mechanical lock, never a blade slid blindly into the door.
For smart-key vehicles, we can also program a new key if the old one is no longer detected.
When to call a locksmith
If the mechanical key won't turn, if the driver's lock is seized, or if the keys are locked in a car with a dead battery, call us. We come equipped to open and, if needed, replace the door cylinder.
The price is confirmed by phone, and we verify ownership before opening.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the hidden key in my remote?
In most models, inside the shell: a button or tab releases it.
My door won't unlock with the buttons, what now?
Try the mechanical key. If that fails, the actuator or lock is at fault.
Can you open if the battery is dead?
Yes, we open mechanically without relying on power.
Do you repair door locks?
Yes, we replace door cylinders and cut a matching key.
