Damage-free car door opening
Keys on the seat, in the trunk or in the ignition: that's the call we get most. We open with an inflatable wedge that creates a small gap in the frame, then a long-reach tool presses the inside control. No broken glass, no torn seal, no scratched paint.
On some vehicles we also use make-specific tools that work the door lock directly. If a child or animal is locked in a hot vehicle, call 911 first.
Chip keys, remotes and smart keys
Since 2007, new vehicles sold in Canada must have an immobilizer. Your key therefore holds a chip the computer must recognize before letting the engine start. We cut the blade, program the chip and, for remotes, pair the lock buttons.
For push-to-start smart keys, we program new keys on most makes. We confirm by phone whether your model and year can be done on site, to avoid a wasted trip.
NASTF vehicle security professional
Serrurier Momo is registered with NASTF (National Automotive Service Task Force) as a Vehicle Security Professional (VSP). NASTF manages the registry that controls access to automakers' security information: key codes, programming procedures and immobilizer data. To be admitted, a business must show it is properly registered, insured and in good standing.
In practice, this credential lets us securely obtain, from participating automakers, the information needed to program a key, reset an immobilizer or remake a lost key. That data is reserved for vetted professionals: it's one more safeguard against vehicle theft, and it's what lets us do on site the jobs many people think only the dealer can do.
Ignitions, cylinders and broken keys
A key that forces, won't turn in winter or spins freely usually points to a worn ignition cylinder. We take it apart, replace the worn wafers or the whole cylinder, then cut a matching key that also opens the doors.
Key broken in the door lock or ignition? We extract it with fine tools without damaging the cylinder, then reproduce the key from the recovered piece.
Every make, across the region
We work on most makes sold in Quebec: Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, Ford, Chevrolet, Jeep, Mitsubishi and many other makes. Older models and brands that left the market, like Suzuki, don't scare us.
We travel across Montreal and its neighbourhoods, the South Shore, the West Island and out to Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Vaudreuil and Repentigny. The price is confirmed by phone before we leave, and we verify ownership on site.
Frequently asked questions
Are you NASTF registered?
Yes. Serrurier Momo is a Vehicle Security Professional (VSP) registered with NASTF, which gives us secure access to automakers' security information to program keys and immobilizers.
Do you make car keys without the original?
Yes. We cut from the vehicle's or lock's code, then program the chip on site.
How much does an automotive locksmith cost?
It mainly depends on the key type and the vehicle's year. We give you the exact price by phone before leaving.
Do you come to where the car is?
Yes, that's the whole point of a mobile automotive locksmith: we come to where the vehicle is parked.
